Business trade with Cuba
Ana Maria Lamar.
Att.: Gov. Kathleen Blanco
Re: Business trade with Cuba. JOE DOE VS. UNOCAL
Ignorance is no longer your excuse to turn a blind eye to human
rights violations in Castro's leftist military dictatorship, it
is greed and poor judgment.
JOE DOE VS. UNOCAL: "Aiding and abetting Human rights violation
committed by others abroad" may impose a very serious economic
liability and sanctions to you and your unethical greedy friends.
US 9th Circuit Court of Appeals in Pasadena California has ruled
FIRMS ARE LIABLE FOR ABUSE ABROAD! UNOCAL SETTLED THE DISPUTE WITH
MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN COMPENSATION! UNOCAL WILL ALSO PROVIDE EDUCATION
PROGRAMS TO REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT OT HUMAN RIGHTS. (Unocal to
Pay, Paul Chavez, The Charlotte Observer, Paul Chavez, Dec. 13,
2004))
Rendering economic assistance to the perpetuation of innumerable
crimes in Castro's private hell is abominable. Exploitation and
modern slavery of the Cuban Worker is the law governing Foreign
Investment in Castro's Cuba.
1. Foreign businesses cannot hire or pay Cuban workers, it is
a monopoly of Castro's Regime. The empoverish worker is paid in
non-convertible pesos but the Regime collects and robs their salaries
in dollars. The employing agency pays US$500 per month per worker,
and the Cuban Worker receives less than 500 pesos, US $15 per month.
Decree Law 77, Foreign Investment Law.
No wonder Castro is considered by Fortune Magazine among one of
the wealthiest tycoon of the world, while the Cuban Worker suffers
poberty or death at sea.
2. Apartheid: Castro's Tourist Industry discriminates and bars nationals
from their premises.
3. The Labor Union is under the strick control of the Military Dictatorship
and prohibits independent trade unions. There is no right to assemble,
no right to collective bargaining, no right to hold strikes, no
right to free speech. Legitimate rights of the worker are labelled
as "a crime against the state"".
4. Arrests, harrassment, sanctions, physical aggressions, harsh
prison terms, unlawful house entry, confiscation of books and educational
material are just a few of the abuses suffered daily to Cubans.
5. Military Dictatorship enforces brutal force upon dissenters.
Imprisoned independent labor union leaders, heroic men, black
and white, young and old are suffering behind bars because they
rose in defense of free speech and the rights of the Cuban Worker
to organize free labor unions and educate Cuban workers about Union
and Labor practices. These heroic Cuban men will attest at this
legal suit against foreign greed, corruption, and exploitation of
the Cuban Worker.. Our independent labor union leaders need not
be identified as JOE DOE; Seven heroic Union leaders, prisonners
of conscience, were sentenced to a total of 150 years in Cuba. They
are:
1. Carmelo Diaz Fernandez, 63 years of age. President Union Syndical
Cristiana,
2. Miguel Galvan Gutierrez, 38 years of age, Executive Board Member,
Centro Nacional de Capacitacion Sindical y Laboral.
3. Pedro Pablo Alvarez Ramos, 53 yeas of age, Secretary General,
Consejo Unitario de Trabajadores Cubanos.
4. Nelson Molinet Espino 37 years of age, President, Confederacion
de Trabajadores Democraticos de Cuba (Federation f Cuban Democratic
Workers
5. Hector Raul Valle Fernandez, 35 years of age, Vice-President,
Confederacion de Trabajadores Democraticos de Cuba.
6. Ivan Carrillo Hernandez, Executive board Member, Confederacion
Obrera Nacional Independiente de Cuba (Cuba's Independent National
Worker's Federation).
7. Alfredo Felipe Fuentes 26 years of age, Federacion Sindical
The International Labor Organization has adopted a resolution that
condemns the government of Castro on June 11, 2003.
The persecution, imprisonment and assassination of freedom loving
citizens in Castro's totalitarian state has been consistently documented
and condemned by the United Nations Commission of Human Rights in
Geneva and by the Inter American Commission of Human Rights of the
Organization of American State (OAS) and many other for the past
45 years. Partial lists document from 77,000 to 103,722 deaths only
for political reasons.
Castro's exploitation is fiercely incremented and foreign investors
choose to ignore the crimes and collaborate with Castro because
of greed. Independent Union Rights Advocates, journalists, librarians,
professors, religious leaders, economists, labor union leaders,
the sick and the blind, blacks and whites are being deprived of
their freedom WHILE HANDSHAKES, COCKTAILS AND BUSINESS DEALINGS
ARE CONDUCTED.
Justice in America's Court will deal accordingly with Foreign Investment
in Cuba. Soon, there will be an Independent Union Leaders in Cuba
vs. Foreign Investment and those repressed and serving prison sentences
under the most unimaginable filth, isolation, torture and malnutrition
solely for supporting the United Nations Declaration of Human rights
will be heard. Turning a Blind Eyes to these abuses and becoming
Castro's accomplice will not be tolerated in America.
It is is to the advantage of Free and Prosperous Societies to demand
the Cuban government respect for labor rights, union rights and
human rights. Make sure Castro complies with your request. Ask the
Castro Regime to free our brothers who have been unjustly sentenced
to long prison terms. Inform foreign investors doing business in
Cuba that our workers'rights and salaries are trampled upon.
The life of Military Dictatorship in Cuba is endangered by Castro's
poor health, please use good judgment on your future dealings with
Castro. The Cuban government recently executed three rafters, young
Cuban blacks escaping from Castro's exploitation. The horrendous
firing squad is still active in violation of Article 25 of the 1940
Constitution of Cuba.
We caution foreign investors that legal action at US Courts will
be taken against multinational corporation in Cuba who collaborate
with Castro's Regime and accomplices will be held economically responsible
for aiding and promoting modern slavery.
Assisting Castro's Regime perpetuate its criminal grip over Cuba
is in violation of all moral and civil code.
