Three years demanding justice

(HAVANA, Cuba, December 6 / Puenteinfocubamiami.org) - Three years after the aggression that could have caused his life, the independent press collaborator Rolando S. Calvet continues demanding that justice be done after the National Police released the thugs that stabbed him in public.

According to Calvet, on October 8th, 2001, he was brutally stabbed by Roberto González Cueto and Hipólito Lara Rodríguez while they were in the process of mugging his mother, Elvira Rodríguez Hidalgo, 59 years old, in the corner of Zapata and Ronda Street, in Plaza of the Revolution.

As a result, Calvet was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Calixto García Hospital for more than 20 days. The court suspended the trial four times because the aggressors did not show up. After a while they were fined 200 pesos and the police closed the case.

No one will reopen the case for the thugs bribed the police with two hundred dollars, finished saying Calvet.
